After a two-year period of preparation, the “SAUVAGE” EXHIBITION is now available to the public. You may discover it for the first time at the MENIGOUTE INTERNATIONAL BIRDS FILM FESTIVAL that will be held from October 28th to November 2 sd, 2014

EXHIBITION DESCRITION

16 black-and-white birds pictures, XL size  (  125cm  x  85cm  )

Whereas a colour photograph may often enhance the subject, it might also blur its appreciation as a picture. I therefore chose black-and-white because it leads to a clearer focus on the message, and the XL format creates an emotional impact.

EXHIBITION THEME

The main theme may be summed up as follows:

In natural surroundings, beauty and wilderness are permanently linked. And birds, the true epitomes of freedom and gracefulness, thoroughly embody that duality. As an illustration to this, my pictures rely on the contrast between the subjects and their backgrounds, and the opposition between soft shades of grey and blatant zones of black or white.
